One of the drawbacks of YouTube for business customers has always been the mandatory YouTube logo on the embedded player. Well, good news! You can now embed a YouTube player without a YouTube logo.
Great tool from Adobe allows anyone to easily create Flash embed code to be used anywhere for any existing video content. Available both as an hosted solution as well as a downloadable open source framework to put on your server (Adobe Strobe).
We’ve written a few times lately about QR codes getting all mixed up with online video, and the possibilities raised by that sort of thing. Even though QR codes are still below the radar of most of the population, that will very likely change.
In what seems to be a move to attract serious video publishers, YouTube has rolled out a new version of its video player so that video makers can easily embed their videos onto their ...
Online video viewers often cite fewer ads as one reason they watch content online rather than on traditional television, yet many publishers want to increase video ad loads and advertisers want to make sure their placements are being viewed. Research exploring how to satisfy all three constituencies indicates that while the length of online video ads matters for completion rates, the length of the content surrounding it is also key for this metric.
It’s been said that Great Content is the best SEO. When it comes to video there’s another way to say it: “Entertain or Die.” It seems like only yesterday that streaming video was new. People would watch anything. Now “Wow! I can watch video on my iPhone!” has given way to “Isn’t there anything good on?” Time for business to catch up.
Over the last several years live video streaming has become powerful marketing tool for artists and brands. For Max Haot, CEO and Co-founder of Livestream, it's been interesting to watch the growing trend of brands adopt live streaming to market their products.
I caught up Haot at NewTeeVee Live 2010 where Livestream announced its new Livestream For Facebook application that allows anyone with Facebook pages to launch a live broadcast within Facebook. Livestream launched this service based on the demand they were seeing from the market and developed an easy way to integrate live streaming into Facebook. Livestream and its competitors had previously provided this service for a fee, but Livestream decided to launch it in a DIY way so that anyone could launch a Livestream channel and embed it in their Facebook page.

Video-based presentations that are distributed for the web typically focus either on the speaker or the slides being shown, but very few applications do a good job of displaying both.

We recently discussed the definition of “social video,” and looked at why it’s on the rise. For a closer look at how businesses can use social video, I interviewed my fellow videologist, Steve Garfield.
There are a million guides out there that will tell you what frame rate, bit rate, codec, and editing software to use.
These tips are excellent and should be followed to create as professional a broadcast or podcast as possible. Unfortunately, there are some common traits among amateur web video that find their way in to otherwise perfect productions. Here are five things to avoid when producing web video:
If you follow any popular Web personalities and their online video channels, you might be surprised to learn they may be paid to have brand messaging worked right into the video.

There are a number of platforms that allow publishers to host and serve video to visitors, including Brightcove and Ooyala. Today, LongTail Video is launching its self-serve video platform, LongTail.TV, which aims to be an affordable hosting option for smaller publishers.
The service is built around LongTail’s cloud-based JW Player, which can be customized and branded. With LongTail.tv, publishers can customize and embed the JW Player on their sites, add content from either their own video library or from LongTail’s Media Gallery and earn money from ads delivered from LongTail’s content providers.

Dragontape, which enables web and iPad users to create playlists of videos and songs from YouTube and SoundCloud and share them with friends, released an iPhone app with the same functionality this week.
I like making money as much as the next guy, but the last three or four consulting clients all shared a problem so basic that I was almost embarrassed to take their money. Specifically, they came to me concerned about poor video quality, and the simple fact was that the data rate of their video was just too low. You’d feel guilty charging for that nugget of knowledge, too, wouldn’t you?
The problem is that while there are many factors that contribute to video quality, if the data rate is too low, video quality will be sub-par. And there’s nothing that even a high-priced consultant can do about it.
Google is expanding their social program, +1 (Plus One), to publishing sites and its own properties like YouTube, where all videos will have the +1 button.

After years of leaving photos and videos to third-party services like Twitpic and Yfrog, Twitter has finally launched its own version.
“A native photosharing experience will be rolled out to 100% of users over the next couple of weeks,” Twitter CEO Dick Costolo told the D9 Conference. The service means that photos and videos will be directly connected to tweets. They will be viewable on Twitter.com without having to leave the site. Twitter will also “surface the most popular videos and tweets” in a new section of the homepage, Costolo said.

While HTML5 holds immense promise for the future of web video, the stakes are complex. Here's a breakdown of where the industry stands in terms of browsers, video services and content providers.
Video is well on its way to becoming the dominant medium for communication. In the past, text had been the main vehicle for communicating within the business, entertainment and news and information worlds, but that has changed dramatically in recent years with the rise of low cost video production tools and distribution platforms.
