Robin Good: Canon has just announced a new line of camcorder models (Vixia for US and Legria for Europe) which will become available in March. These models integrate some interesting new features and options which I have listed here below:
WiFi Connectivity - direct upload to YoutTube or Facebook, also via iPhones and iPads (which can be connected wirelessly to the camcorder and can act as immediate storage devices), or to other devices on a local network.
MP4 encoding support - clips can be recorded directly in MP4 format for easier sharing with portable devices and upload to social networks
Increased sensitivity in low light conditions: 1.2 lux
Export to external drive - direct transfer of video content from the camcorder to an external storage device through an optional USB adapter.
HD-to-SD Downconversion - enables users to convert recorded high-definition video to standard-definition files while preserving the original HD footage.
DLNA-support - transmit wirelessly to your HDTV
