A Serendipitous Music Video Kaleidoscope of Everyday Life Moments: Hypermasher

A Serendipitous Music Video Kaleidoscope of Everyday Life Moments: Hypermasher | Online Video Publishing |
Robin Good's insight:

Hypermasher is a must-see experience. You shouldn't trust my words and you just should head to, click play and watch for yourself.

The clips come from Hyperlapse, the new Instagram tool which allows you to shoot short videos, perfectly stabilized and which you can speed up to your liking, mixed up with some nice chill out, ambient music from soundcloud.

The result is a wonderful kaleidoscope of everyday life moments spinning in a neverending sequence.

A beautiful audio-visual experience about who we are, what we like and what we like to remember.

The Video Swiss Army Knife for Your iPhone 5: XiStera

Robin Good's insight:

XiStera is a new Kickstarter crowdfunded project for a physical adapter for iPhone 5 units capable of working as

  • pocketable lens adapter,
  • stand,
  • tripod mount,
  • headphone wrap,
  • stylus,
  • bottle opener &
  • key chain with optional LED lighting.

From the Kickstarter page: "Xistera is a stainless steel component over molded with TPV Santoprene, a very rigid and shiny rubber that is recyclable and very friendly where it comes in contact with your iPhone.  The Stainless steel support for the stylus and bottle opener never touches your phone casing."

Lots of interesting options available to back up the project.

iPhone 4 users: nothing is lost. A note on the bottom of the page hints at a possible version if the project gets good funding.

Low-Latency, Speedy, No-Frill Access To YouTube Video Clips with YouTube Feather

Robin Good: If you are frequently unable to see YouTube videos stream smoothly to your screen, either because your computer is starting to show its age or because your Internet connection is not that fast, this experimental opt-in feature from your YouTube may solve your problem.

Called YouTube Feather, this new feature allows you to access msny YouTube-hosted videos by severely limiting the features available on the page and optimizing the delivery of the video by drastically reducing the amount of data transferred.

"YouTube Feather removes the information panel, share button, most of the related videos, video responses, vote counts on each comment, the medium-size player option, like and dislike counts for the video, and the capability to add the video to a list."

You can try it out now by going to and clicking on "Join the Feather Beta" blue text.

You can also turn off the feature at any time by going back to the above URL and clicking on "Leave the Feather Beta".

You can provide feedback to YouTube about this experimental feature here:

How To Copyright Your Video Content

How To Copyright Your Video Content | Online Video Publishing |

Robin Good: If you are trying to find out how you can best legally protect the ownership of your video content, by using the laws and procedures available in the US, this article is an excellent guide for those just starting on this front.

"An original work of art, such as a video, music, screenplay, or script, is automatically protected by the laws of the U.S. Code, title 17 as soon as you create the work.

However, for added protection, you should place a copyright notice on your script and register it in the U.S. Copyright Office because that registration is necessary to bringing a lawsuit for copyright infringement.

The so-called "poor man's copyright" - mailing a copy of your work to yourself to obtain a postage date - is not adequate to secure registration, and cannot be used in a court of law to support a case o f copyright infringement."

I personally think that it is not a good idea to go the extra mile to protect once own content in this way, if it is published on the Internet and you want it to get maximum exposure and visibility.

But if you have the time and resources to go after your potential future copyright infringers, you are going to get lots of useful information in this introductory guide.

This seems to be a reliable source.  They have a large social media following, and have endless content in regard to  the music industry, and especially audio and video!

More people are running to charity tube to post free videos and watch free videos than posting on you tube. Try posting at charity tube and you will never leave. More visitors and more video views. Don't take our word for it, try it. Post one same video on youtube and put it on and return ater five hours and compare the viewers rate and decide for yourself. Create your very own group or forum and control who watch it and invite everyone to watch the video. Above all, post video in English or in any language and viewers can watch video description in their own language. Try it and let us know your experience. Above all it is absolutely free like youtube

Add Movement To Your Time-Lapse Clips While Keeping Your Camera Still: Panolapse

Robin Good's insight:

Panolapse is a downloadable software for Mac and PC that allows you to add realistic rotational pans to your time-lapse videography.

Typically these effects are achieved by mounting your camera on a motorized track that slides, or on a motorized head that rotates, or even both at the same time.

Another popular approach to achieve these results is to use video-editing software to digitally move your camera frame within the video frame itself, though the results tend to look a bit missing perspective changes, and therefore flat and unnatural.

From the official site: "Panolapse's movements are real-world accurate, allowing for natural panning motion.

Panolapse cannot add sliding movement like a dolly on a rail, but it can add rotational head movement.

Panolapse works best with wide-angle lenses, including fisheye lenses, allowing you to pan up to 180 degrees in two axis."

Panolapse supports all cameras, and works best with wide-angle or fish-eye lenses.

Panolapse is free for output resolutions up to 1280x720p.

For full-HD support beyond 720p a license costs $65.

HDSLR Top Video Cameras Compared: Nikon D800 vs Canon 5D MKIII

Robin Good: Thanks to fellow video curator Philippe Gassmann I have run into this excellent blog review by DSLR News Shooter that compares the Nikon D800 and the existing king of the market, the Canon 5D MKIII.

"Before the advent of the Nikon D800 and D4 there was no choice if you wanted a full frame DSLR shooting 1080P video – it had to be a Canon.

This past week, I and several other members of the photo and video press and bloggers have been guests of Nikon Europe in New York on the “48 hour challenge”: getting our hands on production models of the D800 and being allowed to shoot what we wanted."

N.B.: The video pictured above is a side-by-side rolling shutter test of the Nikon D800 and Canon 5D mkIII at the Gleasons gym in New York. Do not use this clip to assess anything more than rolling shutter performance as the white balance and exposure are not optimally set for either camera.

It Shoots In The Dark. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III: The Full Review | Online Video Publishing |

Robin Good: Here is a full in-depth field review of the brand new Canon 5D MKIII, one of the best HDSLR cameras you can buy today.

From the review by Zach Honig: "Like its predecessor, the 5D Mark III is an incredibly capable video shooter -- in fact, some of the camera's future owners may not use it to capture stills at all.

...there's no option to capture stills while you're recording video, though if you're shooting in 1080p -- there's support for 1080 at 24/25/30p or 720 at 50/60p -- you'll probably have plenty of frame grabs to use.

...At $3,499 for the body only, Canon priced this latest 5D higher than its predecessor, which rang in at $2,699 at launch..."
